My windows vista machine stopped being able to connect to the share folder of a windows xp machine following an installation of acronis true images 2010 on the xp machine. The error message was "you do not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Not enough server storage is available to process this command."

The solution (an unusual one) was to add the following key to the registry of the xp machine
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\SYSTEM
\CurrentControlSet
\Services
\LanmanServer
\Parameters
IRPStackSize DWORD 0x0000000f (15)
